Key Personnel
Richard S. Grip Ed.D. Dr.
Richard S. Grip, Executive Director of Statistical Forecasting LLC, possesses a
Doctorate in Educational Statistics and Measurement from Rutgers University in
New Jersey. His dissertation, Prediction of Public School Enrollments Using
the Modified Regression Technique, demonstrated an alternative method to the
Cohort Survival Ratio in
predicting school enrollments. Using
data from two school districts, predicted enrollments using the
Modified Regression Technique
(MRT)
were 20-30% more accurate than the Cohort Survival Ratio for a period of up to
seven years into the future. As a recognized leader and expert in enrollment projections, Dr. Grip has testified as an expert witness in school demography regarding the termination of the sending-receiving relationship of Newfield Borough with the Buena Regional School District. Dr. Grip has presented papers on uses of enrollment projections in public school districts at the following conferences: Population Association of America, Does Projecting School Enrollments by Race Produce More Accurate Results?, Annual Conference, New Orleans, LA, April 2008 Population Association of America, Highlights of a Demographic Study Prepared for an Abbott District, Annual Conference, New York, NY, March 2007 American Association of School Administrators Rural School Leaders Conference, Baltimore, Maryland, July, 2002 New Jersey Association of School Administrators, The Demographic Study: One Size Does Not Fit All, Spring Conference, Atlantic City, New Jersey, May 2001 New Jersey Association of School Administrators, Projecting Enrollments in Rapidly Growing Districts, Spring Conference, Atlantic City, New Jersey, May 2001 New Jersey School Board Convention, Enrollment Projections: Making them Accurate, Atlantic City, New Jersey, October 2000 New Jersey Association of School Administrators, Enrollment Projections: A New Direction, Spring Conference, Atlantic City, New Jersey, May 2000 New Jersey Association of School Administrators, Enrollment Projections: A Solution for High Growth and Low Growth School Districts, Spring Conference, Atlantic City, New Jersey, May 1999 American Educational Research Association, Predicting Public School Enrollments Using the Modified Regression Technique, Annual Conference, Montreal, Canada, April 1999
